Visiting Porthleven, Cornwall - Part 2
Posted on
Continuing on from Part 1, there's plenty more to see and do when you pay a visit to the pretty harbour village of Porthleven in South West Cornwall. And on a calm summer's day, there's nothing nicer than just watching the boats bob in the harbour and enjoying an ice-cream, Cornish pasty or something else delicious. Just remember to keep an eye out for the opportunistic seagulls.
Porthleven Harbour Market is well known far and wide - locals are regular visitors and tourist and day trippers love visiting the many and varied stalls dotted around the harbour.
The outside market runs from Easter until the end of October, weather permitting. You'll find 5 wonderful little beach huts, occupied by local businesses selling their wares, alongside market traders in the wooden, purpose built pergolas and in gazebos on the green on the harbourfront.
Market days are Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays for the outside market, although the indoor Shipyard Market is open most days (check for details).
Within the little beach huts, you'll find gin, rum, crafts, jewellery, candles and more. And with the market traders changing regularly depending on the day, you'll be spoilt for choice. Let's introduce you to some of the regulars.
