Visiting Porthleven, Cornwall - Part 1

If you're coming to Cornwall this year, Porthleven is well worth a visit. Nestled in the south west of the Duchy, Porthleven is a quaint little fishing village as well as being a hub for creativity and art. Porthleven is home to many wonderful galleries, shops and has a thriving market, both inside the Shipyard Market and outside around the harbour.
Porthleven in Cornwall is also very well known already as a foodie paradise with many beautiful restaurants and cafes. Just behind the harbour front, within the Shipyard Market, there is a wonderful, artisan emporium of exciting independent shops and businesses, each one different and unique. If you're in the area, pop to Porthleven and pay the Shipyard Market a visit (make sure to check opening times of both the Shipyard and also individual shops as hours may vary).
Here you'll find everything you could imagine, all under one roof. So, no matter what the weather is doing, you can enjoy browsing and shopping as well as treating yourself to a coffee, a pastry or some delicious food.
Cornish Magpie is bursting with a whole lot of loveliness. Within Cornish Magpie Gift's little shop, you'll find a whole host of beautifully created and curated gift ideas and homewares. Feechi is our fantastic cafe. If you're a coffee lover you'll love it - and the sweet treats and northern Thai foods have to be tasted to be believed. Children and adults alike will adore the Bubble Tea and handmade rolled ice creams. With loads of space to sit and relax, why not pop by and enjoy some refreshments followed by some retail therapy.
Ebb and Flow is an ethical clothing and lifestyle boutique. Full of fair trade loveliness, you'll find beautiful clothes, candles, incense sticks, socks and jewellery. Ethically sourced and green products for you and for your home - by the sea, in Porthleven, Cornwall.
Porthleven Beer Seller is our resident beer seller...but it's not just beer. There's rum, gin, peanut butter, sauces and more. You can taste some of the products on offer before deciding and you can even enjoy your purchase at one of our long, communal Shipyard tables - just ask for a glass.
Wild Sage and Silver is just heaven for those who love handmade, unique jewellery. Using recycled silver, the jewellery is all handcrafted in Cornwall.
Maka Play is our wonderful little toy shop. Kids will make a bee line for this shop full to the brim with dolls, wooden toys and ethically made toys. There are dinosaurs train sets, rag dolls, soft toys plus beautiful gift ideas such as lip salves, nail varnishes and colouring books. If you can't find it yourself, your children most certainly will.
The Butcher's Bakehouse is our awesome bakery. From croissants to focaccia, and from loaves of bread to brownies, it'll be difficult for you to come away with just one or two things. Everything is freshly baked and produced and absolutely delicious. Enjoy a cake or cruffin from the bakery with a coffee from Feechi.
Panchi Ice - home to bubble tea and rolled ice -cream, you'll find Panchi within our cafe, Feechi. Join the queue of visitors eager to witness the theatre of the rolled ice-cream being made, it's a joy to watch. And not just bubble tea and rolled ice-cream, there's also a changing menu of sweet treats such as pancakes and roti.
Steelworks is our stunning art gallery, home to Liz Dickinson, artist. The walls are covered in artwork which will remind you of the oceans and landscape of Cornwall. Abstract landscapes and interiors, painted in acrylic and mixed media as well as original paintings on stainless steel.

Although tucked away behind the harbourfront shops, the Shipyard Market in Porthleven is most definitely worth a visit. Look out for the yellow flags and you'll know youre headed in the right direction. We're pretty sure you won't be disappointed.
